DMER Announces Provisional Selection and Non-Eligible Applicant List for MBBS Transfer

The DMER Maharashtra has released two lists, i.e. Provisional Selection List and Not-Eligible List for transfer from medical college to another. Students will be able to check if they have qualified for the transfer from one medical college to another, on grounds of eligibility for the same.

MBBS students who have applied for transfer from one recognised MBBS college to another in Maharashtra will now be able to check if they qualify for the transfer. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Maharashtra has published the Provisional Selection List and the List of not eligible Applicants on the official website. If you are one of the applicants then you will be able to check the list either by visiting the official website or by clicking the direct link for both the lists.

About MBBS Transfer Option

As per the regulations that have been outlined by the Directorate, all applicants are to abide by certain eligibility criteria which qualify them for the transfer. Transfer between courses is usually not permitted under the guidelines mentioned by the Medical Council of India. However, certain exceptions, as outlined by the Council.

The primary eligibility in order to apply for a transfer from one medical college to another will be based on clearing the 1st Professional MBBS exam. After the declaration of the results for the 1st professional exam, candidates will be able to send in their applications with No Objection Certificates, signed by both the Medical Colleges and the respective Universities. These applications are to be sent within a month of the release of the results.

As per the guidelines outlined by MCI, the following exceptions/compassionate grounds will make the applicants eligible for transfer from one medical college to another, provided both medical colleges are recognised by the council.

  • Death of Parent / Supporting Guardian

  • Illness of the candidate which causes disability to the student

  • Disturbed Conditions, as mentioned by the Government, surrounding the Medical College

Students who wish to transfer on other compassionate grounds will have to mention the same in their applications. These applications will further be considered by the MCI on individual merits by the Director of Medical Education, or relevant competent authority of the State.

All decisions that have been taken by the Council will remain final. Depending on the vacancy available and the severity of the cause for transfer, students will be selected and allowed to transfer to another medical college. All students are advised to go through the detailed regulations for transfer from one college to another, before applying for the same.

Students who have qualified and are listed under the Provisional Selection List must carry out the requisite tasks to complete the transfer process.
