Event Updates – UPMC to celebrate its silver jubilee

Upendra Pai Memorial College (UPMC) will celebrate its silver jubilee here on April 6 and 7.

“The Annual and Founder’s Day celebrations would be held on the college campus on April 6. Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swami of Kaniyur Mutt, H. Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Univeristy, and Ganesh B. Kanchan, president of the Udupi unit of ICAI, would be chief guests. The institution was started in 1991 as College of Commerce and Business Management. It was renamed as Upendra Pai Management College in 1997 to mark the birth centenary of late Upendra Pai,” said Madhusudhan Bhat, principal of the college while interacting with the media.

The college, affiliated to Mangalore University, offers B.Com and BBM courses. The college also provides hostel facilities for its women students. The college is also a centre for conducting the Chartered Accountancy examinations since 2000. The college had maintained close contacts with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
