The 15th annual convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University's(VTU) is scheduled on 5th May at Jnana Sangama campus.
During the convocation, VTU will confer BE degrees to 53,972 students, B Arch- 176, MBA- 4,258, MCA- 2,730, M Tech- 7,669 and MArch degrees to 23 students. Among the 86,173 students appeared for examinations 68,960 have been passed. Passing percentage of girls is 87.36 against 72.39 of boys.
AS Kiran Kumar, chairman of Space Commission will deliver the convocation address. Governor Vajubhai Vala will preside over while higher education minister TB Jayachandra will grace the occasion,” said acting vice-chancellor and registrar (evaluation) HG Shekharappa while announcing the list of rank holders and gold medalists.
“All the top 3 gold medalists are girls. Apart from having the surpassing passing percentage of boys, girls also secured top three ranks in having highest gold medals. Gayatri M Prabhu of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Musuru secured highest nine gold medals for obtaining 1 strand with highest marks in BE Electrical & Electronics. Gayatri is the student who received highest marks among all rank holders in any branch of BE,” said HG Shekharappa.
Niveditha M of Global Academy of Technology, Bengaluru has been secured seven gold medals for securing 1st rank and highest marks in BE Civil Engineering. Deepthi Devaraj of BNM Institute of Technology, Bengaluru bagged six gold for having secured 1 rank, highest marks and topper in BE Computer Science and Engineering.
