The CBSE board on Wednesday (20th February) announced that a set of relaxations are made for the wards of military force personnel fighting left-wing extremism and terrorism. The norms will be applicable for students who are sitting for the class 10th and 12th board exams 2019.
The wards of paramilitary and military force personnel who risk their lives for keeping the country safe have been allowed to change their examination centre in the same city. Students who were unable to appear for the CBSE practical exams have been excused. If practical examinations are missed then the same would be conducted as per convenience and support from the respective schools latest by 10th April 2019. This was stated in a circular issued by Sanyam Bharadwaj, Controller of Examinations at CBSE. The Central Board of Secondary Education has relaxed norms for children of Military Personnel after the Pulwama Terror attack that took place on 14th Feb 2019 after which 40 jawans were killed. There was another incident on 18th February 2019 where three soldiers and a major were killed in J&K’s Pulwama district.

Students of Military Personnel are also allowed to appear for an examination in a certain subject later if they wish to. Students will also be allowed to change test centers and opt for one in another city. This relaxation is only applicable in the schools which are under the CBSE Board.
The CBSE Exams for class 10 are being conducted from February 21st, 2019 and will end on March 29th, 2019. Whereas, the class 12th board exams began from February 15th, 2019 with vocational subjects. The important and main papers will begin on 2nd March 2019.
