GATE COAP Round 4 Seat/ Offer Acceptance Process 2021

Unlike previous rounds, there are some changes in the seat acceptance process of Round 04. The candidates will have options such as ‘Accept and Freeze’, ‘Reject and Wait’ and ‘Retain and Wait’.

Candidates who have already used ‘Retain and Wait’ twice for the same institute and programme are not allowed to use this option again for the same institute and programme. Instead, the candidates can use this option for a different offer/ institute and programme.

Other two options with regard to the seat allotment are similar to the previous rounds, and there are no changes in the seat acceptance process.

Can I choose ‘Retain and Wait’ for the same programme in Round 4?

If you have already used ‘Retain and Wait’ for the same programme from the same institute, you cannot select this option.

Is there any chance for seat allotment in Round 5 if I select ‘Reject and Wait’ in Round 4?

It depends on the availability of offers and seats in different programmes. It is always advisable to select ‘Retain and Wait’.
