Is there negative marking for NAT and MSQ questions?

There is no negative marking for both Numerical Answer Type (NAT) and Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) in the GATE exam. This means that while an incorrect Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) will result in a deduction of marks, an incorrect response in the NAT or MSQ sections will simply result in 0 marks.

What is the difference between the GATE response sheet and an answer key?

The GATE response sheet is a personalized document that shows the specific answers you selected during the exam, whereas the answer key provides the officially correct solutions for every question in your paper. You use the response sheet to know your performance and the answer key to cross-verify those responses against the right options to calculate your raw marks. While the response sheet cannot be challenged after submission, the provisional answer key can be objected to if you find any discrepancies.
