Directorate of Students’ Welfare, Gauhati University in association with Vivekananda Kendra, Assam Prant is going to organize a Yoga training camp at Gauhati University campus from 21-27 April, 2016. The week-long early morning yoga training camp will allow students, faculties, officers and staffs of Gauhati University to participate and practice yoga and learn about the health benefits of this age-old practice of yoga. The programme will highlight the significance of Yoga in mental and physical development and overall well-being of an individual.
Yoga is believed to be a complementary intervention to many known diseases like cancer, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, kidney ailments, mental illness etc. This initiative of organizing a yoga camp in the university campus will not only educate participants of the health benefits of yoga, but also will signify the importance of yoga in the prevention of diseases, along with the benefits of it in maintaining a healthy life. Apart from the ones associated with the university, anyone who is interested to take part in the programme can contact the management of the university.
