The chief secretary and secretary (education) has been notified by the Himachal High Court today regarding the inadequate teaching faculty in the Himachal Pradesh University. Now the chief secretary and secretary (education) will have to give a report of the same within two weeks.

The next hearing regarding the same matter has been fixed on August 22.

After the news report that the university is not having enough staff in every department and the posts for seats are vacant, a board meeting comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition.

According to the news reports, a class of 500 law students was being handled by only 5 teachers in the law department.

Currently, about 11 posts are empty and no attempt has been made to fill them since 2000.

Similarly, about 15 posts are empty in the Department of Education regardless of orders by High Court to fill up the vacant posts.
