Here's why WBJEE Result 2025 Postponed

WBJEEB was expected to release the WBJEE 2025 result TODAY, i.e., August 7. However, the late-night contempt filing at the Calcutta High Court has postponed the announcement yet again.

WBJEE Result 2025 Postponed: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has postponed the announcement of the WBJEE result 2025, which was scheduled for today, August 7. According to media reports, the WBJEE 2025 result has been postponed due to contempt proceedings initiated against the state in the High Court. Justice Kausik Chanda began the contempt case after receiving complaints from merit-listed candidates via email, related to unresolved disputes over the revised Other Backwards Classes (OBC) reservation list. The controversy includes the addition of 77 communities to the OBC list without adequate justification and transparency.

The Principal Secretary of Higher Education, West Bengal, has been directed to appear in court to clarify the state’s position. The official WBJEE 2025 result download link will be activated at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. To access the WBJEE result, the candidates will have to log in using their application form number and date of birth. It is to be noted that the result will be downloadable in the form of the WBJEE 2025 rank card.

The High Court has mandated that the admission process, including result announcements and counselling, cannot move forward until the division bench rules on the stay application. The state-level entrance exam took place on April 27 in two sessions: the first from 11 AM to 1 PM and the second from 2 PM to 4 PM.

All candidates who qualify must take part in the WBJEE Counselling Process 2025. In this process, candidates will need to register and log in using their credentials. After logging in, they must select their preferred courses and colleges in order of priority. It is also necessary to pay the required counselling fee for WBJEE 2025. The results for seat allotment will be published online.
