HRD Ministry: No Plan to Introduce Common Course for all Education Boards

Giving response to the written question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State (HRD), Mr. Upendra Kushwaha confirmed that the government is not in favour of framing and implementing the common course in ICSE, CBSE and other state boards. The government has not prepared any proposal in this regard, he confirmed.

Adding further, Mr. Upendra pointed that implementing the uniform syllabus across the country would lead to many problems. Students will not be able to have awareness of local culture and language. Therefore, implementing uniform syllabus for all the boards is not the agenda of the government, he explained.

The ministry also confirmed that the government has no plan to shut down NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling).
