Students of ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad have claimed their position in 37th John Molson MBA International Case Writing Competition. The competition was organised by John Molson School of Business, Canada. The college falls under the Concordia University, Canada.
Indu Perepu and Syeda Tahera Sadia secured second place in this competition. The case they presented was titled - Walmart’s E-Commerce Acquisition Spree: Toward Online Success Or Existential Crisis? The case discussed Walmart’s e-commerce acquisition spree and effect on its profitability after taking the decision to opt for multi-channel retailing.
Indu Perepu won one more award for a case titled Birchbox. For this case, she teamed up with Alok Kavthankar. This case was about problems and challenges encountered by Birchbox a beauty products subscription startup. The case chosen for the finals was the Walmart case. Indu Perepu is a contestant that has made her mark in this competition by winning several awards till date.
B-schools of Canada, Ireland and Brazil also won awards for their splendid case reports. John Molson MBA International Case Competition uses these selected cases of the competition for their competitive perspectives. Students from other B-school analyze these cases and fight for top awards in this competition.
John Molson MBA International Case Competition is one of the most reputed and oldest international level case competition of the world. About 36 universities from different countries take part in this competition. It is usually a six-day competition held every year in January.
