In 2017, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had announced polls in five states where the dates of polls clashed with Indian School Certificate Examination or ICSE. Therefore, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) rescheduled the examinations for Class X and XII. Gerry Aarathoon, Chief Executive of CISCE, revealed that the dates of examinations underwent changes.

As per schedule of CISCE, the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) 2017 were to commence from February 6, 2017, and the Indian Certificate of Secondary Examinations 2017 were to begin from February 27, 2017.
The dates of examinations and polls clashed, and that is why ISC rescheduled its Arts Paper-I examination, which was orginally scheduled for February 11, 2017. The same day, the first phase of polls for 73 seats was listed by the Election Commission of India.
Similarly, Paper-II Computer Science examination was to take place on February 15, 2017, and on the same day, the Election Commission of India listed the second phase of polls for 67 seats. The revised ICSE 2017 exam dates and ISC 2017 revised dates were later announced by CISCE. The detailed schedule for ICSE Class X Board Exam 2018 & ISC Class XII Board Exam 2018 has been released . The 2018 ICSE Class 10 exam will begin on February 26, 2017 and end on March 28, 2018, while the 2018 ISC Class 12 Secondary exam will begin on February 6, 2018 & end on April 2, 2018.

The dates of these examinations have clashed with the first and the second phase of polls and changes in the exam dates are expected, leading to rescheduling of the same. Revising the examination schedule is vested with CISCE and the new dates will be confirmed and released soon.
