IIIT Delhi Launches M.Tech Artificial Intelligence Course

Popular IIIT Delhi (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology) is all set to launch a new M.Tech programme. Candidates with an inclination and interest to pursue Artificial Intelligence (AI) course can study an M.Tech degree in the specialized field at IIIT Delhi from July 2018 onwards.

Initially, the M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence course at IIIT Delhi will admit a total of 20 students. The course will be spread across four semesters of six months each wherein the candidates will be trained in such a way that they are able to find employment opportunities in the promising industry. One will be able to take up jobs that involve innovation and problem solving with the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques.

While commenting on the introduction of the new programme and also the first of a kind for the institute, Mr. Mayank Vasta, who is the head of the Infosys Centre for Artificial Intelligence at IIIT Delhi, he said the research-oriented programme on AI will not only focus on the foundations in the field but also cater to the advancements that are synonymous with it. Candidates will be provided knowledge which they will be able to apply practically and solve real-world problems with the help of AI.

Another institute, that has in the past, launched programmes on machine learning and artificial intelligence is IIIT Hyderabad. The course which is offered at IIIT Hyderabad is titled 'Foundations for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning'. It was launched in October 2017.
