IIM Bangalore is planning to upgrade the curriculum of its two-year management course soon. As per the sources, the new curriculum will be in tune with modern industry requirements. However, the upgradation of curriculum might take place in the next two to three years. As a part of the plan, IIM Bangalore will include specialized courses in Analytics and Real Estate in the curriculum of the two-year management programme.
Both Analytics and Real Estate have good career scope in the market and are emerging fields. IIM Bangalore has already done enough research in the field of Analytics. These specialised courses will equip the students with basic skills in the field.
Director of IIM Bangalore, G Raghuram confirmed that the curriculum of two-year management course would undergo changes. The revision of curriculum will be made after holding consultations with the experienced faculty and experts, he added.
Giving details about the diversity of the new batch, IIM Bangalore Director revealed that more engineers enrolled in two-year management course this year. It is a fact that more engineers take CAT exam for getting admission in IIMs. The premier institutes will figure out measures to fix this diversity issue, he indicated.
Adding further, G Raghuram pointed out that the number of start-ups founded by women in India is lesser than men. There is a need to mitigate this gap, and it is time to encourage more women to take up entrepreneurship. The Women Start-Up Programme of IIM Bangalore has been playing a dominant role in encouraging women start-ups, he highlighted.
