IIM Indore IPM Course Receives Fewer Applications

  • IIM Indore offers only 120 seats in IPM course and the competition for the admission is relatively low this year.
IIM Indore IPM Course Receives Fewer Applications

It seems like the competition for the Five-Year IPM Course (Integrated Programme in Management) offered by IIM Indore is has dropped relatively this year. The premier management institutes offer 120 seats in IPM course. This year, close to 17,716 candidates have applied for IPM course, which means that 148 candidates vying for one seat. On the other hand, IPM course offered by IIM Indore has turned into a degree course this year.

The officials of IIM Indore revealed that the number of applicants competing for the admission toIPMcourse has declined this year. Last year, over 19,700 candidates applied for the IPM course and the competition was tough.

Even though IIM Indore decided to award the dual degree for IPM students after the successful completion of the course, the number of applications declined this year. The officials of IIM Indore pointed that it is difficult to figure out the reasons for the decline in the number of applications received this year.

This year, IIM Indore awarded degrees instead of diplomas to graduated IPM students on the convocation ceremony that took place on March 30, 2018.

The 2019 batch students will receive the following dual degrees after the successful completion of five-year IPM course: -

  • Bachelor of Arts – Foundations of Management
  • Master of Business Administration

After the intensive three-year course in Foundations of Management, IPM students will be trained as managers along with the regular PGP in Management students.

Even though there is a heavy completion for IPM course, Director of IIM Indore, Mr. Rishikesha T Krishnan clarified that the premier institute does not have required infrastructure to increase the intake of students.
