IIM Kozhikode witnesses 10% Growth in MBA Graduations

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has seen an overall 10% growth in the number of graduates passing out of the institute this year in comparison to last year. In addition to that, the number of women graduates is also on the higher side. 

IIM Kozhikode witnesses 10% Growth in MBA Graduations

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode had conducted its 21st yearly convocation with a growth of 10% in the number of students graduating this year in comparison to previous year. In addition to that, the number of women who had graduated this year has also been higher than last year.

The event was a huge success as it concluded with 629 students graduating from the MBA programme of IIM Kozhikode along with 7 PhDs which were also being awarded to the students.

The Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM Kozhikode, A Vellayan stated that the Indian Institutes of Management are one of the best institutes to study management from as they provide some of the best quality education to their students. He also added that the students who graduate from IIM Kozhikode are some of the best entrepreneurs in the industry and they become people who think and work with the customer in mind as well as the various cultural, global and political facts.

The chief guest at the convocation at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode was Aditya Birla Group’s Group Executive President D Shivakumar and he spoke about the various decisions and steps that a person has to take in order to be successful.

The director of the IIM Kozhikode, Debashis Chatterjee has stated that there has been active participation from the female students of the Institute. 29% of the female students took part in the placement drive this year and some of them have been placed with some of the highest packages of 30 lakhs. The average packages that have been awarded to the student from the Institute this year are around 20 lakhs. Debashis Chatterjee also added that the average CTC of female students from consulting, Marketing and operations and sales have been more than the male students of the University.

The students of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, have also been awarded gold medals in different areas as well. Gold Medal in the area of scholastic performance was awarded to three students, viz. Priya Agarwal, Anchal and Akash Sehra from the Post Graduate Programme. Another gold medal in the scholastic performance for EPGP Kozhikode Campus was awarded to Nitin Kumar T.C.V. Gold Medals for all-around performance at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode was awarded to Murali Siva K. from the PGP batch as well. Nisha K.R conferred an IIMK Chairman’s Gold Medal for meritorious performance for EPGP campus in Kochi.
