IIT Bhubaneswar (IIT BBS) has shifted to its permanent campus at Argul in Khurda district from the Central administration in Toshali Bhawan of the city. The shifting of the IIT BBS to its permanent campus is one of the important milestones for the institute.
R V Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar said that the institute has fully moved to its permanent campus. He thanked the Union Minister for making it possible and for the grant of Rs 850 crore for the Phase- 2 construction of the institute which is to be completed by the end of 2019. He also said that this step will help in attaining the global benchmarks. He also informed that their timely steps have helped to improve the national rankings of the institute.

The new IIT Bhubaneswar's permanent campus is facilitated with all modern and infrastructure facilities that a world class institute should have like hostels, lecture halls, a central research facility, an auditorium which can accommodate up to 1500 people at a time, and has an expansion plan of existing school buildings with modern architecture.

Meanwhile, the Director of IIT BBS said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given his consent to visit the new campus of the IIT BBS. However, they are yet to finalise the dates regarding the visit of the Prime Minister to one of the premier engineering institutes of the country. He also added that timely execution of all functions has resulted in improving IIT BBS's NIRF ranking, which is now considered amongst one of the world's best institutes.
