Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has collaborated with a German-based Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft for setting up a Centre for Advanced Automative Research.

IIT-Madras has signed a letter of intent with the German institute for setting up the Applied Centre for Advanced Automative Research. The main objective of this partnership is to deliver R&D solutions of an excellent level and in a timely fashion. Dean, IIT-Madras, Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian expressed his happiness over the collaboration and mentioned that IIT-M would provide all the support for the development of the project.

Executive Director of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft said that they collaborated with various institutes in India. He expressed that they were excited to collaborate with IIT-M.
Recently, IIT-Madras has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation to create Specification for the Hybrid Inspection System for Reformer Tubes. IIT-M has also collaborated with a Japanese firm Alka TKG Co Ltd and launched a New Development Centre to solve several challenges relating to technology development for Artifical Intelligence (AI). The institute has been performing exceptionally well for the development of science and technology. IIT-M is trying to strengthen its industry-academia collaboration. For this purpose, it has been collaborating with various firms, institutes and companies.
