What's new at IIT Madras 2023?
JoSAA registration for IIT Madras B.Tech admission 2023 will start from June 19, 2023. After the declaration of the JEE Advanced results. As per IIT Madras admissions 2023 notification for B.Tech courses, JEE Advanced admit card is out. Candidates can check the results by using their registration number and date of birth.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras was established in 1959. As per the NIRF Ranking 2022, the institute was ranked 1st in the overall category with a score of 87.59. It was ranked 2nd in the research category with a score of 86.38. Moreover, it bagged the first rank with a score of 90.04 in the engineering category. IITM courses are spread across 16 academic departments. It offers multiple courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. IIT Madras has 16 academic departments and a few advanced research centres in various disciplines of pure sciences and engineering. The curriculum of IIT Madras is designed in a way to encourage students to balance both academics and research. Several undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, and doctoral-level courses are available at IIT Madras. It provides B.Tech and dual degree programmes in twelve different disciplines. Indian Institute of Technology Madras admissions are offered across 16 departments at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level. Entrance exam is the basis of selection for IITM admission. For example, for admission to its B.Tech programme admission at IIT Chennai is done on the basis of JEE Main and JEE Advanced. For admission to IITM PG courses, candidates must apply, appear and qualify the GATE for M.Tech and MA admission, IIT JAM for M.Sc and CAT for MBA programme. Admission to IITM EMBA course is done on the basis of merit, working experience and personal interview. This will mark the end of the IITM application process.
IIT Madras releases cutoff every year based on the marks scored by the candidates in the respective entrance exams, based on which seats are allotted in the counselling process. For B.Tech admission in IIT Madras for 2023, candidates will be allotted seats based on the JEE Advanced cut off 2023 at the JoSAA counselling. Once JEE Advanced results are out then the IIT Madras cut off list is released in the form of closing and opening ranks. For the postgraduate courses, admission at IIT Madras will be done on the basis of entrance exams. M.Tech admission fir 2023-24 at IIT Madras will be done on the basis of GATE cutoff 2023 list. Similarly, JAM cut off 2023 list will be the basis of admission for IIT Madras M.Sc admission.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras placement report 2022 is out. The institute has also released the IITM Summer Internship Placement Report 2023 for management courses. IIT Chennai placement cell looks after the overall functioning from inviting recruiters, conducting pre-placement talks to organising the placement drive. The placement cell at Indian Institute of Technology Madras also conducts necessary training and workshops to make the students interview ready. In the IIT Chennai placement drive 2022, 26 companies visited and 61 students registered for placement. The average salary package recorded was Rs 16.66 LPA.
