Researcher from IIT Bombay and IIT Gandhinagar to Attend Nobel Laureate Meeting at Lindau

660 researchers and young scientists from 101 countries will feature in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting where 70 Nobel laureates will be present. Meeting which will be conducted between 28 June and 03rd July 2020.

Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting 2020

A Ph.D. students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has been selected to attend the 2020 Noble Laureate Meeting which will be held in the town of Lindau, Germany. The name of the IIT Bombay researcher is Jayeeta Saha from the Chemistry Department. The Lindau Laureate Meeting will be conducted between 28th June and 03rd July 2020.

A total of 660 researchers and young scientists from more than 100 countries worldwide will be representing their work at the symposium. A total of 70 Nobel Laureates from different disciplines will be present at the Nobel Laureate Meeting.

Two more Ph.D. scholars from IIT Gandhinagar’s Chemistry Department will also attend the 70th Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau. The names of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar Ph.D. scholars are Deependu Dolui and Srimadhavi Ravi. The Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology will sponsor the visit of these students.

In the Nobel Laureate Meeting, sessions like round-table/panel discussions on interdisciplinary topics, informal small-group meetings with the Nobel Laureates, lectures by the Nobel Prize winners, etc will be conducted. Three Natural Science disciplines for Nobel Prize, i.e Physics, Chemistry and Physiology/Medicine will be in focus.

The attendees have to go through a multi-step application process and selection process to be shortlisted for the meeting. Every five years, an interdisciplinary meeting revolving around all three natural sciences is held whereas, the Economics Sciences meeting is held every three years.
