More than 50% Indian Graduates in UK have Above Average Salaries: Survey

Studying in the UK is a dream of many Indian students. Thanks to the UK-India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI), the student mobility between India and the UK has become easier. At least 51 percent of Indians graduating from universities in the UK earn above average and around 82percent of them are satisfied with their careers, according to a report launched by the Universities UK International

The survey suggests that -

• 51% of all the Indian UK graduates bag salary packages higher than an average Indian graduate.

• 90 percent of all the women in the Indian UK graduates group earns an average or above salary.

• Upon asking, more than 60 percent of Indians who graduated from the UK said that they are doing exactly the kind of job they have always wanted to do.

• 82 percent of the students responded by saying that they are satisfied or highly satisfied with their jobs.

Responding to the stats that came from the survey, Vivienne Stern, the Director of UUKI (Universities UK International) said that the higher rates of job satisfaction in Indian UK graduates are the consequence of continuous increment in the job preferences. According to the Director, this leads to effective work performance and fetch more acknowledgment to one’s work. He added that the possibility of UK graduates working in managerial roles in India is 23% higher than the global average.

Currently, a delegation of representatives from 20 distinguished UK Universities is in India. The goal of the to get involved in mutual engagement with Indian stakeholders to elevate the student mobility rate, therefore, employability. This is to further strengthen the relationships between the two involved nations viz. India and the UK. this will also facilitate India’s future collaboration with the UK, especially in the field of education and research.

Due to the escalation in the ROI rates, the number of Indian students pursuing graduation from UK universities has increased. The country has witnessed a 42 per cent increment in the number of Indian students choosing the UK for their higher studies. With this, the UKIERI programme is reaching to its second phase, aiming at furthering the ally and rising the current stats for an even better future of the students of both the countries.
