The research scholars and students of the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore organize an annual mathematics competition called LIMIT. It is an International Online Mathematics Competition for the students of high school and undergraduates. The applications for LIMIT has been released and the last date to register is the 10th March 2019.
LIMIT is popular as it is an International open book Mathematics competition which is held online. It aims at providing a platform which is common for the entire student community of the world so that they can compete and assess themselves with respect to the other contemporaries they have in the world. The LIMIT exam can be given from anywhere, even from your home.
There are three categories of LIMIT. Each category is held for a different section of students.
Category 1 - for Secondary Classes (8-10)
Category 2 - for Higher Secondary Classes (11-12)
Category 3 - for Undergraduates
The questions of this exam will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The syllabus is available on the official website of the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore.

It is decided that the prize amount of LIMIT will be around Rs. 60,000/-, or USD 850. The candidates will be given participation certificates and a certificate of merit will be given to the top 10% of students from each category. Apart from that, 50 students will get a chance to go for a Mathematics camp, the choice of which will depend upon their performance.

The applications are to be submitted online by March 10, 2019. The registration fee for each application is Rs. 200/- along with additional service charges, which amounts to Rs. 211 in total. Students will be required to provide their email id while registering. They will receive their password and user ID on that mail itself within a week.
