Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Milla Islamia announces the extension of admission date to 10th October for J&K Students. Due to the communication gap in the valley, many students couldn't reach the university to complete the admission formalities.

Jamia Milla Islamia Extends Admissions Date

Jamia Milla Islamia extends admissions date for J&K Students to 10th October 2019 as many candidates couldn't report to the University to complete admission formalities previously. The main reason being, revoking of Article 370 created a communication gap in the valley. The details of admission date extension were mentioned in the letter written by Varsity Registrar to the Resident Commissioner, J&K.

Last week, the Resident Commissioner of J&K wrote to Jamia Milla Islamia stating all issues faced by the students of the state. The letter was sent out on 26th September 2019 and as a reply, Jamia Milla Islamia extended the admission deadlines.

According to the students of J&K, they appeared for the entrance exam for getting admission at Jamia Milla Isalima but were unable to check their results due to lack of connectivity in the entire J&K region. Due to which students who had cleared the exam had no idea of the same. As the communication gap continued, many missed the last date of counselling as well.

Earlier the date of admission was extended till 1st October 2019 and the Resident Commisenor J&K was asked to behold the Nodal Office and collect the applications from all the candidates of the region to prepare a merit list.

J&K students can now visit the admissions office of Jamia anytime before the 10th of October. The following documents are mandatory to get admission at Jamia:

  • Passing certificate of class 10th and class 12th
  • Certificate of Reservation
  • Domicile certificate of J&K candidates
  • Passport size photographs

According to the sources, the resident commissioner will be submitting a final list of students who cleared the entrance exam for admissions. The list will be forwarded to the admissions committee who will verify all the details of candidates to further allocate seats to the students.
