With the aim to protect and spread the message, memory and life of our late Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, a scholarship will be provided to the Ph.D. aspirants who are inclined to take up research in the field of Indian civilization, history, religion and culture, economics, sociology, environment ecology, philosophy and geography etc. through the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund
The scholarship period will be of two years.

Scholarship reward:
The eligible candidates who get selected for the scholarship will be awarded Rs 18,000 per month which will include the tuition and maintenance fee. Also, Rs 15,000 per annum will be given as contingency allowance.
Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification:
Interested candidates who wish to apply for the scholarship must hold a first class degree with at least of 60 percent marks in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
They must be available as a full-time Ph.D. scholar. Also, they should be registered or admitted in a recognised institution in the country for a Ph.D. degree.
Age limit:
Those who are interested in applying must belong to the age category of below 35 years.

This scholarship is a symbol of determination to keep burning the torch and make it worthy of both affection and regard. The fund had been used for different activities with an aim of propagating and protecting the teachings of Nehru Ji.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund formally came into existence when a National Committee of 110 members assembled in New Delhi on August 17, 1964 under the Chairmanship of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, which are further taken care by the President of the country.
