NTA Ends Photo Verification for JEE Main 2026 TodayPhoto Verification JEE Main 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) said that the verification of the certificate for the photograph would be done today, January 15 , 2026 . This additional verification step was introduced to ensure accurate identification of candidates and prevent any mismatch or impersonation during the examination. Candidates who were notified by the NTA on their registered email IDs have been given a dedicated link on the official JEE Main website. They can download the certificate from the portal and paste a recent passport-size photograph, get it attested from the school principal or from a Class-I gazetted officer, and then upload the same in scanned PDF format through their login. NTA has done this as part of strengthening Exam Security and smooth conduct of JEE Main 2026 Session 1, to be conducted from January 21 to 29 . Candidates have been advised not to delay but complete the verification immediately to avoid last-minute issues.
Who Should Upload the Photo Verification Certificate?
Only those candidates who are directly contacted by NTA need to carry out the following procedure.
- Students who used non-Aadhaar identity documents during the time of registration
- Candidates who uploaded a photograph that was not their likeness and did not match the official records.
- Applicants who were mailed by NTA for verification of photograph
- Those who were provided a special link on the JEE Main portal to upload the certificate
Steps to Complete the Photo Verification Process
These are the steps that candidates have to follow to complete verification before the deadline.
- Download the photograph verification certificate from the portal of JEE Main, jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Paste a recent passport-size photograph in the space provided.
- Get the form attested from school principal or a Class-I gazetted officer
- Clearly scan the attested certificate in PDF format.
- Upload the PDF via the candidate login on the official website.
- Keep a hard copy to be carried to the examination centre on the day of the examination
