NTA has issued JEE Main Result April 2025 along with the ranks on April 18, instead of the earlier scheduled date of April 17. NTA released the released final answer key around 3 PM on April 18.

JEE Main Result April 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) was to release NTA JEE Main Results 2025 Session 2 on April 17, 2025, but due to an uninformed delay, the result was not released. NTA on April 17 had also published the final answer key and as per usual trends, the result was expected within six hours of the final key release. But by evening 9 PM, NTA took down the final answer key. NTA has released the revised JEE Main Final Answer Key 2025 Session 2 and the result is also now published at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Furthermore, NTA had hosted the result link on its host server of examinationservices.nic.in by late evening on April 17, but by April 18 morning, the link was also taken down. A delay in the result is there, and due to April 18 being Good Friday, JEE Main April 2025 result is confirmed to be delayed - JEE Main Result 2025 Delayed: NTA gives official update, details . In the final key released on April 18, one question was dropped from the final answer key for the Physics subject. Along with the JEE Main April Result 2025, NTA will also announce the JEE Main 2025 cutoff, i.e., the minimum marks required in JEE Mains to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025. Through a detailed result notice, NTA will also release the toppers list and result highlights. JEE Main 2025 Rank Card will have details of the candidate's normalised percentile score in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, aggregate percentile score in all three subjects, and the candidate's rank by considering the best of the two sessions' score (if only the candidate has appeared for both sessions).

JEE Main Rank Card 2025: How are ranks decided?

NTA follows the following criteria to decide ranks whenever two or more candidates score the same overall percentile:

  1. NTA score (percentile) in Mathematics, followed by;
  2. NTA score (percentile) in Physics, followed by;
  3. NTA score (percentile) in Chemistry, followed by;
  4. Lesser proportion of incorrect attempts to correct answers in all the subjects, followed by;
  5. Lesser proportion of incorrect attempts to correct answers in Mathematics, followed by;
  6. Lesser proportion of incorrect attempts to correct answers in Physics, followed by;
  7. Lesser proportion of incorrect attempts to correct answers in Chemistry, followed by;
  8. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.
From this year onwards, NTA has discarded "Date of Birth" and "Application Number" criteria to decide ranks. Earlier, the older candidate would get a higher rank, followed by the candidate who registered earlier.

NTA releases the JEE Main Session 2 results on the official website & aspirants are required to download it online. Check the steps below to download the JEE Main 2025 Result:

  • Visit the JEE Main official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on "JEE(Main) 2025 Session-2 Result for Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech.)" link available under Candidate Activity.

  • Enter your JEE Main application number, date of birth and security pin.

  • Click on the Submit button, and the JEE Main Result Rank Card 2025 will be displayed on the screen.

  • Download and take printouts of your JEE Main 2025 result for future reference.

    JEE Main Result 2025: Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced

    The applicants need to meet specific eligibility requirements to participate in JEE Advanced 2025:

    • Candidates who passed JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 must be placed within the top 2,50,000 successful students across all categories.
    • Candidates who wish to apply under General/OBC category need a birth date after October 1, 2000 however candidates under SC/ST/PwD categories can apply from October 1, 1995 onwards.
    • Candidates whose admissions were blocked due to Supreme Court rulings can seek and receive permission for three attempts according to exact terms set by the court. The opportunity for additional attempts is restricted to two tests in a consecutive order for all candidates except the minorities mentioned previously.
    • Students need to appear in their Class 12 exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics during either 2024 or 2025 yet special arrangements apply for delayed 12th marksheet distribution in 2023.
    • According to entrance policy requirements candidates need to show 75% marks from their Class 12 education (a 65% requirement exists for students who belong to SC/ST/PwD categories).
    • Candidates who were accepted into IIT seats are prohibited from reentering the admission procedure unless they have left before their final admission date or participated in preparatory programs upon joining.

    • If two candidates score the same marks and the tie remains after following the above-mentioned criteria, then both candidates will be provided with the same percentile.

    The JEE Main Normalisation is done to equate the difficulty level of different shifts. So that every student who took the JEE Main exam can get equal opportunity to clear the exam. The JEE Main normalization process is based on the simple formula given below:

    • If there is a tie between candidates, then the highest NTA score obtained by the candidates in Mathematics will be first considered for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie persists between candidates, then the highest NTA score obtained by the candidates in Physics will be considered second for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie still persists between candidates, then the highest NTA score obtained by the candidates in Chemistry will be considered second for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie still persists between candidates, then the applicant with less number of attempted wrong answers and more correct numbers in all subjects will be considered fourth for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie still persists between candidates, then the applicant with less number of attempted wrong answers and more correct numbers in Mathematics will be considered fifth for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie still persists between candidates, then the applicant with less number of attempted wrong answers and more correct numbers in Physics will be considered sixth for resolving the tie. 
    • If the tie still persists between candidates, then the applicant with less number of attempted wrong answers and more correct numbers in all Chemistry will be considered seventh for resolving the tie. 
    • If two candidates score the same marks and the tie remains after following the above-mentioned criteria, then both candidates will be provided with the same percentile.
