JKBOSE confirms 15% relaxation in the syllabus for class 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced a 15% syllabus exemption for class 10 students appearing in the 2025 annual examination. This decision comes after an academic delay due to extreme weather conditions prevailing in the Kashmir region. Students will now attempt only 85% of the total marks, which will be considered as 100% for evaluation. Question papers will cover the full syllabus, but students will have internal options to select questions. Each multiple-choice question (MCQ) and grammar section will be marked individually. The exam will be conducted from November 3 to 27, 2025 , for various subjects like mathematics, science, social science, English, Hindi/Urdu, and vocational subjects set on various dates.
JKBOSE Class 10 Annual Exams 2025: Details regarding 15% relaxation in syllabus
The following are exemptions given by the SSC Board of Jammu and Kashmir for the class 10 exam -
- 15% syllabus reduction: Students will now need to attempt only 85% paper, reducing the amount of syllabus coverage while doing the revision
- Internal choice in question: While the entire course is a part of the exam, students are given the option to choose questions
- MCQs and grammar marking: In subjects with multiple choice questions and grammar exercises, each question will be marked individually.
- Flexible evaluation: The mark obtained for the attempted questions will be extended to full marks, so students are not penalised for leaving questions from the exempted part of the course
- Student-friendly evaluation: Overall, the board has redesigned the evaluation system to be more stress-free and transparent
