Kanpur University Exams to be Conducted under CCTV Watch

Kanpur University Exams to be Conducted under CCTV Watch

It is for the first time that Kanpur University and its affiliated colleges spread in 14 districts will sit for their annual examinations under the CCTV watch to prevent copying and cheating during the exams. The exams are all set to begin from 6 March 2018.

Ram Naik, Governor and Chancellor of State Universities had approved to conducting UP Secondary Board exams under CCTV to avoid cheating incidents and suggested the same for the university exams. The CSJM university also arrived at the same decision of not conducting exams at the colleges where CCTV cameras and security systems are not installed.

According to the reports, CCTV cameras will be installed at all examination centres in 14 districts. It will be tough for the varsity to implement the same in all colleges across 14 districts like Kanpur, Fatehpur and others that are affiliated with it. However, the university administration and officials have already prepared a blueprint for conducting the exams. The official letters regarding the installation of CCTV Cameras to check copying will be dispatched by Monday to all the affiliated colleges.

Professor Sanjay Swarankar, Registrar CSJM University stated that the main aim to conduct annual exams under CCTV coverage is to prevent copying and ensure fairness in the examination. The exam schedule will be same as last years. Students will take exams together in three shifts.

Like the previous year, both regular and private students will take the exams together in three shifts. A total of nine lakh students have registered as regular candidates, over 55,000 will appear privately.
