Karnataka Architecture Aspirants Stuck Amid Pending Ranks

As the Karnataka Exams Authority holds back from releasing the Architecture ranks for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (K-CET). Students are now in a fix about their ranks till the July session of NATA Examination. However, the body has only announced the results of engineering, veterinary sciences and Ayurveda courses.

The main reason for the delay is stated to be the NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) examination in which the students sit for admissions in the Architecture colleges. The exam is held every year twice by the Central Government Backed Body of Examination Council of Architecture (CoA). The students who appeared for the first phase have already submitted their ranks to the K-CET conducting authority KEA. However, the body has decided to release the overall rank list for 2019-20 academic year after the completion of the second phase of NATA examinations. An official of KEA stated that the students are likely to come back to K-CET for the NATA Architecture Entrance Ranking after the second phase. Although the NATA Authority has shared the results in Percentile to K-CET and they release the ranks as per marks percentage. The K-CET authority is not sure how to declare the ranks as they claim that they have not received full results.

An Architecture aspirant while talking about the inconvenience faced by him said that he already has 1,676 rank in engineering but he wants to take up Architecture for higher studies. He said that he has his NATA Rank which the KEA asked to upload and he did accordingly. He expressed that the will not be able to choose a college until he gets his rank in K-CET.

Many parents have conveyed their concerns also, they said that their wards have a valid score in engineering but they want to go to architecture. The will be compelled to make their sons and daughters take engineering despite their personal preferences for this delay.
