KCET 2022 Document Verification: After the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) postponed KCET Document Verification slated on August 08 and even though a new date is yet to be announced, it is likely that the document verification process will be further delayed. This is because a petition filed against the method of ranking applied for repeater students was filed in Karnataka High Court. A hearing on this matter took place on August 8 in Karnataka High Court wherein the court has ordered to postpone KCET 2022 Document Verification until further orders. The hearing is now adjourned until August 18, 2022, only after which the document verification will begin.
This year, for KCET repeaters (i.e., the batch who passed II PUC exam in 2020-21), KEA gave full weightage to their KCET 2022 marks without considering their II PUC 2021 marks. However, for the students who passed II PUC in 2022, the weightage to KCET and II PUC is given in a 50-50 ratio.

As the two methods of rank determination amount to discrimination, KCET repeater students have gone to Karnataka High Court, demanding their II PUC 2021 marks to be considered at 50% weightage for the determination of ranks like the regular students. On the other hand, in KCET 2021, 100% weightage was given to KCET marks only and no weightage was given to II PUC 2021. Given that no examination was held for II PUC in 2021 due to COVID-19, this decision was taken and the same was continued onwards for the repeaters.
For now, it can be said that KCET 2022 Document Verification will only begin after August 18, which can also be further delayed based on the orders of the state’s high court.
