LPU hosted the TATA Crucible - 2019, Asia's largest quiz contest. More than 400 teams participated in the preliminary rounds of the contest.
Tata group organized Asia’s largest Quiz Contest - “Tata crucible -2019” at Shanti Mittal Auditorium of Lovely Professional University. This Quiz contest is being conducted across the country by Tata Group in different stages. The Tata Crucible contest for the state of Punjab was held at Lovely Professional University. More than 400 teams participated in the preliminary rounds of the contest. Six teams out of which three teams were from LPU participated in the final round. A written test followed by a quick prelim of 20 questions helped these teams to reach the final.
Tata Group has always been working for the betterment of the students by promoting student internship programmes to social entrepreneurship. Tata Group has taken up various initiatives to engage with the youth. The Tata Crucible-2019 is another such initiative. The Quiz also has its international editions in Dubai, Singapore, Middle East and some other countries.

Asia’s ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam who is also known as pick brain hosted the event which was won by Aditya & Akshay of DAVC Jalandhar. Tata Group expressed gratitude to the Lovely Professional University for helping to make the event a gala success.

The LU students also expressed how the university provides them with a wonderful environment which helps in gaining knowledge. The prize to the winning team was distributed by the LPU Director General Er HR Singla which included a cash prize, trophies and certificates.
