About LPU

Lovely Professional University or LPU is a private institution situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), it began operations in 2006. LPU holds multiple approvals and recognitions from bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Architecture, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and Bar Council of India (BCI). In its first NAAC accreditation cycle, LPU achieved an “A++” grade.

The university offers programmes across diverse fields, including business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on the LPUNEST. Apart from this, exams like GATE, NATA, CUET, CAT, XAT, NEET, etc. are also accepted. LPU hosts over 30,000 students and employs 4,000 faculty members across its 600-acre campus. The campus features extensive amenities such as hostels, transportation services, a university hospital, shopping and dining facilities, banking services, and well-stocked libraries. In the 2024 NIRF rankings, LPU is positioned 45th overall, 27th among universities, 44th in research, and 50th in engineering. LPU offers various academic programmes at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Admission to these programs is facilitated through various entrance tests conducted by the university, namely LPUNEST, LPUPET, and LPUTABS. As per the LPU admission process, LPUNEST serves as a mandatory test for admission into B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, Law, design (UG and PG), integrated BBA MBA, B.Pharm, B.Sc agriculture, B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Hons), BCA, and MCA courses. For other programmes, LPUNEST functions as a scholarship test. For admission to BTech courses, candidates need to qualify for JEE Main/LPUNEST/CUET. I chose B.Tech in Computer Science at LPU due to its reputation for excellent placements and industry-relevant curriculum. The best things about my course were the experienced faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and opportunities for internships and projects. I wish there were more emphasis on research and development and better communication between the faculty and students. The campus life was vibrant, with various events and fests like One World, Youth Vibe, and cultural nights. The crowd was diverse, and the campus surroundings were beautiful. I availed a scholarship based on my academic performance, and there were many extracurricular activities to engage in. What is the LPU Admission Process?

LPU admission 2024 has started. The application process of LPU is available in online mode and registration can be done from the official website. Students have to ensure they have the required eligibility criteria. Note that, for the majority of the courses, LPU accepts LPUNEST entrance exam scores. Hence, students may have to qualify for the LPUNEST exam and the admissions will be offered accordingly. Further, the authorities also accept national-level entrance exam scores for BTech, MBA, MTech, BDes, BArch etc examination along with LPUNEST scores.

Which entrance exam scores are accepted for LPU admission in BDes courses?

For admission in BDes courses, LPU Phagwara accepts UCEED, NIT DAT, NIFT UG and NIFT B.FTech scores. The university also conducts LPUNEST for BDes admission. The Bachelor of Design is a four years undergraduate programme offered in specialisations like global design, interior & furniture design, film & TV production etc.

What is the annual charge for LPU hostel facilities?
