The Lucknow University is in talks with Uttar Pradesh government to consider revamping the B.Ed Joint Entrance Examination. LU wants to introduce a single exam of 3 hours (180 minutes) instead of two exams of three hours each (360 minutes) and to discontinue the negative marking.

LU officials made these suggestions at a meeting of the advisory committee of JEE B.Ed 2018-20 on 10 May 2018. As per the officials, a single exam will save a lot of time of candidates especially for those who came from far off place to appear in the entrance examination. The committee also made several other suggestions like candidates should be allowed to carry their used booklets after the test and to maintain transparency in the exam procedure.
