Officials of Lucknow University have started sending out messages to candidates who sought registration on the university website but have not completed full procedure.
With only a week left before the last date for applications for admissions to undergraduate courses (UG) at Lucknow University (LU), university is trying to finish the procedure as soon as possible.
LU began with its admission process on April 20 and by Monday it had received 23,602 registrations with around 11,600 having submitted fees. The application process ends on May 16.
According to Anil Mishra, admission coordinator for LU around 4,000 bulk messages have been sent to the university citing reasons for the difference between the two figures. “One of the probable reasons could be that students are awaiting their class XII results, some of which are yet to be announced,“.
The entrance test for Lucknow University's undergraduate courses will have negative marking. LU has re-introduced entrance test for UG courses after a gap of 16 years. The test paper will have 100 multiple choice questions in OMR format. This year merit list will be on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test by the candidates.
In case of a tie between two candidates, marks secured in high school or any equivalent exam will be considered. If the marks in such an examination are the same, the older candidate will be given priority.
