  • Candidates interested in seeking admission in PG courses offered by Lucknow University can now apply. The last date to apply is 10th May 2018.

The PG application process of Lucknow University (LU) has already begun. Candidates willing to take admission in PG courses offered at the prestigious Lucknow University can now apply online. There are a total of 70 postgraduate courses that are available for a candidate to choose from with a total of 4,000 seats. In order to apply, a candidate shall have completed his/her undergraduate degree course from a recognized university.

The Lucknow University PG Application Forms were made available from 2nd April 2018. The last date to submit the application form is 10th May (without late fee) and 15th May (with late fee). Check important dates below.

Lucknow University PG Application Fee:

General & OBC Category Candidates (without late fee) Rs. 1,000

Lucknow University PG Entrance Exam Pattern:

  • Candidates will have to clear the entrance test in order to get admission in Lucknow University PG courses.
  • The entrance exams will be based on the undergraduate syllabus of Lucknow University and will consist of three sections of a total of 75 marks.
  • Candidates will have to answer five compulsory questions in 50 words in the first section.
  • Next, they will have to attempt two or three questions in the second section in 150 words each.
  • In the last section, students are required to answer one of the two questions in at least 300 words.
  • A common question paper will be set for courses such as statistics, biostatistics, anthropology and forensic science and similarly for botany, microbiology and plant science, electronics and renewable energy, chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry; and physics.

  • M.A
  • M.Ed
  • M.Sc
  • M.Com
  • MBA
  • M.P.Ed
  • M.Li.Sc

The committee has decided to increase the number of PG courses to 29. As approved by the committee, the ordinance of 80% reservation for its graduates will be removed from the coming academic session.

Courses

Increment in number of seats

Science

Seats will be increased in 9 courses under the science faculty. 5 seats each will be added in M.Sc in Microbiology and Biochemistry. 10 seats each will be added in M.Sc in Environmental Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, and Electronics. 13 seats will be added in Geology and 20 in Forensic Science.

Arts

Seats will be increased in 16 PG subjects of the art faculty. 60 seats will be in M.A. Economics making it 180 from the current 120. 40 seats will be added in M.A. Geography. 20 seats each will be added in M.A. Persian, English and Public Health. Around 20-50% seats will be increased in 11 other subjects.

M.Com

20 seats each will be added in M.Com and Applied Economics courses. Both the courses will have a total of 360 seats.

M.A.

Seats will be doubled from 15 to 30.

LL.M

Seats will be doubled from 30 to 60.

Students can also opt for proficiency, diploma, PG diploma and Post MA diploma courses as add-on programmes offered by LU. The students who pursue PG courses can later find directly be eligible for exams that screen candidates for positions such as government employees, corporates-sponsored applicants, and defense personnel.
