Machine Intelligence and Brain Research Winter Course Begins at IIT Madras

CCBR (The Center for Computational Brain Research) at IIT Madras has begun the winter course on Brain Research and Machine Intelligence from January 2nd and it will go on till January 9th, 2019. The course will look at educating students through lectures from neuroscientists as well as computational researchers who are working across disciplines.

The course will also aim at getting an understanding of the inner workings of the brain and intelligent machines.

Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Axilor Ventures and Infosys Co-Founder said while inaugurating the session that this area has a lot of scope and potential to have an impact on lives. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning can address many problems that were earlier not solvable. It is important to understand how AI and ML will work, how to use them and if capacity and capability can be created in these fields, can they be used to create global partnerships and bring unique Indian views in this area.

This course was started in January last year and has witnessed a growth in demand. Registrations this time have reached 400 including 30 students from IIT Madras and the number is expected to go up.
