According to the official directive of HC, all 1,147 BDS and 1,367, MBBS seats in private medical colleges are applicable only for the students of the state.
HC Favours MP Domicile Students for Admission in State's Private Medical Colleges

The High Court of Madhya Pradesh has mentioned that only students of Madhya Pradesh can get admission in private medical colleges across the state. The HC imposed a stay on order of Indore bench of the High Court which favoured medical admissions for all Indian students in MP.

According to the official directive of HC, all 1,147 BDS and 1,367, MBBS seats in private medical colleges are applicable only for the students of the state. However, the four students who are not domicile of MP and had approached Supreme Court in the matter can participate in the second round of counselling process which will continue till September 30, 2016.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has halted the first round of MBBS/BDS counselling on September 28, 2016. The officials of DMC mentioned that the counselling has been stopped in compliance of Indore HC bench. However, the order came on heels of MP High Court, Jabalpur bench ordering the barring admissions for non-MP students in private medical colleges. Due to the decision of HC, around 11,000 students were adversely affected.
