After the admissions and seat allocations in rounds 1 and 2, whatever seats are left unoccupied are conveyed through this seat matrix. Do note that the seats where allocation has been made but are opted for betterment will not be considered as vacant seats. Only those seats where allocation has not yet been made are treated to be vacant. Also, as round 3 is the last round of counselling, all reserved seats, which remain unoccupied even after reserved candidates’ allocation, will be converted to open seats as per rules and will be allocated as per merit.

Steps and instructions to use the vacancy seat matrix are enlisted below:

  • When candidates open the PDF, they simply need to search for the institute's name or code (Ctrl + F). Following the highlight of the search result, you can check the vacancy seat matrix. Find the course you are looking for by scrolling down.
  • Side-by-side, also refer to the previous round cutoff to find the colleges available for your merit rank/score.
  • Before entering any option choices, it is advised to refer to both the cutoff and vacant seat matrix to shortlist the best choices for you.
  • As upward movement will happen during allocation and it will create consequential vacancies, it is advised to enter colleges of your preference even if they do not have any vacancies as per the matrix.
  • Similarly, as the cutoff reduces with each round of allocation, colleges with cutoffs slightly higher than yours can be added as well if required. However, as it is not guaranteed, also enter at least a few of your preferred colleges from your cutoff range and vacancy availability.
  • Option form filling for round 3 will be available from November 22 to 24 while the allotment will be made public on November 25.
