Mahindra University Launched in Hyderabad for Interdisciplinary Learning

The Mahindra Group launched Mahindra University multidisciplinary campus in Hyderabad on July 24. The university will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses. The university will also include the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering.

 

Mahindra University Launched

The Mahindra Group launched Mahindra University (MU), a multi-disciplinary university in Hyderabad on July 24, 2020. The university will offer UG, PG and PhD courses. The university also includes the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering established in 2014. The university's objective is to develop highly skilled leaders who will be able to innovate and at the same time, are also empathetic and ethical. The university, spread over 130 acres will operate as an autonomous university.

The 130-acre, multi-disciplinary campus in Hyderabad will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses. It will operate as an autonomous university Mahindra University will also launch the School of Management, School of Law and School of Education in 2021-22 and then it will launch the School of Media and Liberal Arts in 2020-23 and School of Design in 2023-24.

The Chairman of Mahindra Group and Chancellor of Mahindra University, Mr Anand Mahindra said that high-quality education has the ability to transform people and the nation. The university will offer balanced education and combine the latest technology with liberal arts which will help create the next-generation leaders who will have a holistic view of the world. He further said that COVID-19 situation has led to a lot of speculation especially around education in the new world. There is an urgent need for change in the content and when things get back to normal in the post COVID world, there will be more people who would understand humanities while making use of the technology to solve the problems and there will be jobs which will give compensation at par.

The VC of the university, Professor Yajulu Medury said that they plan to create a holistic learning platform for the students so that they have access to the studies related to law, education, engineering, management, design, media and liberal arts. Approximately 4,000 students and more than 300 plus faculty members are expected across the various schools at the university over a period of next 5 years. The university also has plans to align the corporate and industrial ecosystems together through its various centres of excellence,

MU will also to bring the corporate and industrial ecosystems together through its centres of excellence and students will have access to the Mahindra Group's expertise through the visiting faculty, centre of excellence and other strategic engagements. The Ecole Centrale School of Engineering is known for having a track record of 100% placements and the university plans to emulate the same for all the other schools as well.
