MBBS Abroad Aspirants Last Minute Rush to Register for NEET-UG 2018

MBBS Abroad Aspirants Last Minute Rush to Register for NEET-UG 2018

Over the past few days, MCI’s new rule mandating NEET-UG to take up MBBS course aboard has been circulating in media. It was officially confirmed by MCI and CBSE last month. However, MCI failed to issue an official notice or issue an official order explaining the new guidelines. There was no confirmation on the official website of NEET until March 10, 2018, whether NEET is mandatory to pursue MBSS abroad or not.

Many aspirants who are planning to study MBBS abroad are unaware of the new rule, and they had not applied for NEET assuming that NEET not mandatory to pursue MBBS abroad. After MCI issued an official notification on NEET Abroad Rule’ on March 10, 2018, MBBS abroad aspirants have been shocked, as they have limited time to apply for NEET-UG 2018. Parents and students criticised MCI for not keeping such important decisions on public domain with immediate effect.

On the other hand, the officials of CBSE claimed that it is the responsibility of the students and parents to keep a check on the regular news, updates and information bulletins instead of relying on the official circulars and public notices. Many parents are not even checking the FAQs that are being updated at regular intervals. Instead, they are sending e-mails to the wrong IDs and criticising the board for not responding to the queries, explained by the CBSE.

On March 10, 2018, MBBS aboard aspirants rushed to fill the online application form to appear for NEET-UG 2018. It is difficult to register, submit the application form and pay the exam fee within a short period of time.
