MHT CET CAP Counselling 2025: List of changes made for 2025-26 admissions
Here are the major changes that the Maharashtra government has announced for the upcoming 2025-26 admissions for MHT CET CAP Counselling 2025:- For the 2025–2026 academic year, the Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department has extended the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for professional course admission. Instead of holding three rounds of MHT CET 2025 CAP counselling, the department will now hold four rounds.
- After the counselling process starts, candidates will be able to register and complete the options. The allocation will be finalised in rounds two and three if a candidate receives the seat based on their top three and six preferences. Candidates must agree to the allocation, which will be finalised after three rounds. To be eligible to compete in the following rounds, candidates must accept the allocation.
- The fourth phase of the upgrade process will be open to candidates who have accepted the seat that has been assigned to them but have not been assigned seats based on their first three or six selections.
- Based on the candidates' scores in the MHT CET results, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) will assign seats to the professional colleges in Maharashtra.
- Additionally, the government has authorised raising the management and NRI quota seat costs at professional colleges. The updated fee structure permits a five-fold increase in NRI quota seats and a three-fold increase in the management quota price.
- To avoid anomalies and malpractices, the state administration intends to hold the MHT CET entrance exam exclusively in Maharashtra.
- The competent authorities would reimburse the whole amount paid after deducting a Rs 1,000 processing fee if a candidate withdraws their admission offer before the deadline. However, if the seat allocation is cancelled after the deadline, candidates will not be eligible for a return of any money, except for the caution money and security deposit.
