Prime Minister Narendra Modi might attend the 93rd Annual Convocation of Delhi University as the Chief Guest. It is scheduled to take place in the last week of November. One of the officials of DU mentioned that an invitation has been sent to Prime Minister and arrangements for the same are being done actively.

Yogesh Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor, Delhi University revealed that they have already started the preparations and are awaiting confirmations. He did not disclose names of the guests but clarified that eminent personalities would grace the occasion. He explained that an invitation has been sent to the PM and the Prime Minister Office (PMO) has almost accepted the invitation. They just need to confirm the exact date.

DU has finally decided to hold the 93rd convocation that had been delayed for the past eight months. Earlier, DU announced that the convocation would take place in the month of March. However, it was postponed later. The Ph.D. students of the varsity expressed disappointment over the delay as they were asked to apply for the degree certificate instead.
The exact date for the 93rd convocation is not confirmed. VC stated that it would not be possible to hold the convocation ceremony in the first and second week of November. Hence, it is will be either held in the third week or the last week of November 2016.
Alternatively, an invitation has also been sent to Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and Vice President Hamid Ansari.
In the year 2013, President of India, Pranab Mukherjee attended the DU Convocation as the Chief Guest.
