CUET UG 2022 registrations closed on May 22, 2022. A record of 11,51,319 students have registered and 9,13,540 students have paid the application fee. Students from all states, union territories, and rural & remote areas have applied.
UGC Chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, tweeted that around 11,51,319 students from across the country have registered for CUET 2022. Out of which, 9,13,540 students have paid the application fees. The CUET 2022 application forms were closed on May 22, 2022. Soon after the closing of the application window, the UGC Chairman disclosed the details on his Twitter account.
The Chairman, Professor Kumar stated that candidates from remote areas and rural areas have also applied for the CUET UG 2022. Many of the applied students are also from union territories. Students from each state of the country have applied for CUET 2022. Candidates now do not have to bear the burden of scoring high marks, like a range of 99%-100%. Candidates from all educational backgrounds will now be capable of securing admissions to the top universities of the country. The students who were unable to secure high marks in board exams will now have a fair play to seek admission to their preferred universities.

Further, the Chairman says that a large number of universities are participating in the CUET 2022 exams. In the near future, there is a scope that other universities will also participate in the CUET. It will not just offer more opportunities, but also encourage the students to take admissions to their desired universities.
The registration process for CUET 2022 for the postgraduate courses is underway. It is expected that a large number of candidates will apply as well. Further, the UGC Chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, also suggested that CUET may be conducted twice a year from next year. For the admissions for the next academic year 2023-2024, there is a possibility that CUET will be conducted twice every year. It will help the candidates prepare well and plan for the CUET exams.
