The relations are stronger than ever between France and India as they have joined hands to provide a fellowship program to promote research. A Memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Thales. These two have come together to create a fellowship program called the IIT Delhi- CNRS Ph.D fellowship program. The decision will help strengthen the industry-academia relationship between two countries.
Students will be given the liberty to take up research in any of the following fields:
- Advanced Electronics
- Complex Systems Engineering
In the first batch of the program, only 4 students will be selected. The amazing perk of this program is that selected scholars will be given the opportunity to conduct their research in India as well as France. The scholars will have two supervisors one from IIT Delhi, India and other from the identified CNRS laboratories, France.
The Director of IIT Delhi, V. Ramgopal Rao said that this is an amazing opportunity for students who wish to conduct their research at the global level. He also said that this will help strengthen relations between India and France.
The Ambassador of France, Alexandra Ziegler, said that scientific development is the main aim of this project and it is very important for excellent bilateral relations between France and India.
