National Institute of Design Ahmedabad (NID) has delayed its 40th Convocation Ceremony last minute in February. The institute has finally announced the new date for the event, i.e. 7 March. Check here for the details.
National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad has finally declared the date for its 40th Convocation Ceremony. The event is scheduled for 7 March 2020. The convocation date was confirmed via an email received from the registrar of the Institute of National Importance. The students are delighted by the news and are eagerly waiting to receive their degrees. NID Ahmedabad is yet to mention the name of the chief guest for the event. The Registrar's email received by the staff and students states that minute to minute programme for the ceremony is being worked out and will be shared with the students in due time.
Previously the institute decided the date for the convocation as 7 February but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the event got postponed in the last minute. The invitation cards for the event were sent long before and the families of the graduating students had already assembled at the NID headquarters, Ahmedabad. NID Ahmedabad has refused the demand of the students of partially funding the parents' and students' travel expenses in order to compensate for the loss they had to bear due to the last-minute alteration of the convocation date.
After 1961, this was the first time since the convocation ceremony of NID Ahmedabad had been delayed. This year, around 300 students will receive their degrees during the event. Students confirmed the news and said that no information about the chief guest has been provided by the institute yet and they are expecting that an inspirational personality will deliver the convocation address.

The National Institute of Design has finally declared that new date of the convocation i.e. 7 March, which is exactly a month after the event was put off. NID Ahmedabad is an autonomous institute and is considered as India’s finest school for design courses. It falls under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

NID Ahmedabad is one of the most prestigious and leading design colleges of the nation. All the graduating students and their guests are cheerful after the announcement of the new date for the convocation ceremony and are looking forward to it.
