NEET PG 2025 SC Hearing : The Supreme Court is set to hear petitions about the NEET PG exam's normalization process on May 22, 2025. The hearing was initially scheduled for May 20 but was postponed due to the Waqf case. The petitions question the fairness and transparency of the exam's two-shift format.

Two petitions are currently before the Supreme Court. The first petition, filed by Dr. Ishika Jain and a group of aspirants, seeks the release of answer keys, individual scorecards, and the establishment of a grievance redressal mechanism for NEET PG 2024. The petitioners claim that the lack of these elements compromises the exam's transparency and fairness. The second petition, submitted by the United Doctors' Front, challenges the two-shift format of NEET PG 2025. It highlights concerns about variations in question paper difficulty and the clarity of the score normalisation process.

The petitioners advocate for a more transparent evaluation system. The issue arises from the high number of applicants, which necessitates conducting the exam in multiple shifts with different question papers. This format has raised concerns about fairness, transparency, and consistent evaluation standards.

In 2024, many candidates expressed dissatisfaction with the normalisation process, claiming that it resulted in unexpectedly low ranks. Despite their concerns, no proper resolution was recommended.

The normalisation process involves adjusting scores to account for varying difficulty levels. For instance, if an exam has three sets of question papers with average scores of 80, 90, and 100 marks, the easiest set would be adjusted downward, while the toughest set would be adjusted upward. The petitioners argue that this process is unfair and advocate for a single-shift exam to ensure consistency and fairness.

With the exam set for June 15, the outcome of the Supreme Court's hearing will be crucial for aspiring candidates. They are eagerly waiting to see if the court will address their concerns and make the exam process more transparent and fair.
