NEET Question Paper Analysis 2023: NEET 2023 exam paper concluded on May 7, 2023, at 5:20 PM. Based on initial reactions, students found the Physics section to be the toughest, while the Chemistry and Biology section ranged between easy to moderate difficulty level. Aspirants can expect around 150+ good attempts. The NEET Cutoff 2023 is expected to be higher compared to last year's cutoff.

Over 20 lakh candidates had registered for NEET 2023, the highest-ever registrations for any undergraduate examination in India. More than 20 lakh medical aspirants appeared for the exam this year. NEET 2023 test was held in an offline OMR-based exam in a single shift. The paper comprised 4 subjects: Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry, each having 50 questions for 200 marks out of which 45 questions have to be answered. A negative marking of -1 mark will be applicable for every incorrect attempt.

  • According to one test taker, Biology was the easiest section but it was also time-consuming. Most of the questions in the NEET 2023 question paper were based on the NCERT syllabus.
  • Almost 30 percent of the questions in the Biology section can be considered easy. 
  • Experts stated that Assertion-Reason type questions were included in sections A and B, which require a thorough understanding of concepts to answer accurately. 
  • Unlike NEET-UG 2022, students have not reported any incorrect questions this time.
  • Experts and students reviewed and found that the Physics section only consisted of topics from the NCERT syllabus, and there were no questions outside of it.
  • Among all the subjects, Chemistry, particularly Inorganic Chemistry, was the most difficult. 
  • The 45 questions in the Chemistry section consisted of more theoretical questions, and, 31 percent of the total no. of questions in the section were considered easy to moderate and candidates are expected to score well in this section.
  • Overall, the NEET 2023 question paper is better compared to last year's paper, as per some students. Those who were taking the exam 2nd or 3rd time found this year's paper better.

  • A higher cutoff can be expected this time as students found the exam to be moderate in terms of difficulty level.

  • In the Biology section, students found Zoology to be easier as compared to Botany.

  • Even though the Physics section was challenging as compared to other sections, it was found to be easier as compared to the previous years' papers.

  • Some of the student reactions implied that those who focussed on the NCERT syllabus would have attempted the NEET 2023 question paper more confidently.
