According to the notification, candidates must ensure that their Aadhaar details, UDID (Unique Disability ID) for PwD candidates, and category certificates like SC, ST, OBC-NCL and EWS are correct, valid and not expired. In case of any discrepancy or when the information is not updated, it can cause problems while filling up the application form online, during the document verification process, counseling or at the time of seat allotment. Avoiding any last-minute hassles and disqualification of candidature, candidates are advised to get the corrections done beforehand and have the documents ready before the NEET UG 2026 application window opens.
Advisory Concerning Aadhar, UDID & Category Details for NEET UG 2026
NTA has advised NEET UG 2026 aspirants that they should update their important documents in advance before applying online so as to not to face any inconvenience at a later stage.
Make sure that Aadhaar Card details, Name, DOB, Gender, Photograph, Address, Biometrics, etc., are correct and updated.
UIDAI instructions should be followed for any corrections/updates in Aadhaar details
PwD candidates should verify that their UDID Card is valid and needs to be renewed if expired.
Category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) should be valid & issued from a competent authority.
A document mismatch or invalid/old documents can cause problems in counselling or even in getting the application rejected.
Make all these changes (updates) well in advance before NEET UG 2026 registration opens up for the session.
Validation of Category Details for NEET UG 2026
NTA has instructed candidates to check and update their category details prior to submission of the application for NEET UG 2026.
The category certificate (EWS, SC, ST and OBC-NCL) has to be valid and not expired.
The certificate must be issued by an appropriate authority.
Invalid or incorrect certificates lead to loss of the benefits of the reservation.
Category once submitted may not be allowed to change later
Discrepancy in category details may result in rejection at the time of verification or counselling
The NEET-UG 2026 application form will likely be released in the month of February 2026 . The registration usually begins in the first week of February and ends in the first week of March 2026 . The exam date will be on the first Sunday of May, i.e. May 3, 2026. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) - neet.nta.nic.in for the availability of the notification and dates.
