The admissions to the newly established Industrial Training Institute in Perumbakkam Chennai has begun. The Institute is accepting applications to the 2-year ITI Trade Certificate courses. The Industrial Training Institute Perumbakkam was inaugurated on 28th September 2019.
Sources have stated that there are 24,000 residences in the Tamil Nadu State Government Slum Clearance Board’s Housing Complex, situated in Perumbakkam. Keeping this in mind, sources stated, a host of Government arts colleges as well as schools have been established in the district.
A directive had been forwarded by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu E. Palaniswamy to set up an Industrial Training Institute in the suburb. Following the directive of the Chief Minister, a Government ITI had been established and inaugurated in Perumbakkam. Located at the Social Welfare Community Hall next to Perumbakkam Government Arts College, the institute has been established to provide the youth certificate courses in various trades.
As per sources, the Industrial Training Institute will be offering aspirants ITI trade certificate courses in 5 areas. Among the courses, Repair and Servicing of 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, Hospital House-Keeping, Printing, Repair and Service of Refrigerators, Welding courses will be offered.
The ITI at Perumbakkam will be offering 172 seats in total for the courses. Those who are interested in joining the course must have completed their class 10 and cleared all the exams. As, a part of the package of joining the certificate courses at ITI, students will be offered a Laptop, Free Training, Text Books, a Monthly Financial Assistance of ₹500, 2 sets of uniforms, a Cycle, Bus-Travel pass concessions, and free drafting implements.
The aspirants who wish to take admission in one of the trade certificate courses at ITI Perumbakkam must visit the institute with the required and valid documents as proof of eligibility. All the application and admission process for the courses will be done in-person.
