NID Entrance Exam 2017: Notification for Ph.D. Admissions Released

National Institute of Design or NID has released the admission dates for the Ph.D. course. The application process for Design Research Aptitude Test for the admission to the Ph.D. course has commenced. The candidates can check the detailed eligibility criteria, application process and important dates here.

Eligibility: -

• The candidates interested in applying for the Ph.D. programme at National Institute of Design must have a Master’s degree in Design. The candidates who have Master’s degree in relevant fields of design can also apply for the Ph.D. course at NID. (OR)
• The candidates who have Bachelor’s degree in Design with three years of professional experience in teaching may also apply.
• The candidates who are pursuing final year Master’s degree in Design may also apply for the Ph.D. programme at NID.
• The candidates applying for Ph.D. at NID must also submit a Ph.D. proposal to seek admission.

Application Process: -

• The applicants must download the application form for the Ph.D. programme from the official website of National Institute of Design.
• On the home page, towards the right-hand side of the page, click on ‘Download Ph.D. 2017 Application Form’.
• The application form will open in a PDF format.
• The candidates can fill the columns in the application form and submit it by e-mail.
• The candidates need to send the application form to the e-mail ID prescribed at the top of the application form.
• The candidates must affix the required documents along with application form.
• The application fee for General Category is Rs. 5,000.
• 50% concession in application fee for SC/ ST categories.
• Application fee has to be paid in the form of Demand Draft (DD).

Selection Process: -

• The selection of the candidates will be based on the Ph.D. proposals submitted followed by the score they secure in Design Research Aptitude Test.
• The shortlisted candidates for the Ph.D. course have to then appear for the Personal Interview.
• Final selection is based on performance in the Personal Interview.
